Amanda Covey is the faculty support and recognitions specialist at the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Sciences at Virginia Tech. In this key role, Amanda collaborates closely with faculty members across various disciplines within the university, guiding them through the intricate process of identifying and applying for external honorific awards. Serving as a liaison between Virginia Tech and awarding societies, she curates resources and employs data analytics to strategically identify awards that align with faculty members' accomplishments, research areas, and career aspirations. Amanda's expertise and dedication ensure that faculty members have optimal opportunities to gain national and international recognition. By facilitating and supporting their pursuit of prestigious external honorific awards, she plays an instrumental role in elevating Virginia Tech's reputation as an institution of excellence.  Amanda graduated from Virginia Tech in 2000 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and 2015 with a MAED in Curriculum & Instruction.
